The Adventure Driven Life: Reclaiming the awesomeness of God every day

The Adventure-Driven Life is a compelling exploration of contemporary Christian experience, offering a fresh perspective on ‘Christ in you, the hope of glory.’ My first book, The Kingdom of God, the Director’s Cut, focused on the community. This book is more about God at work in the lives of the individuals who make up that community.

It provides a balance of biblical theology and practical experience. The core message is that the word ‘awesome’ should characterise the life and experience of every Christian believer and follower of Jesus Christ. God is awesome.  He wants to live the Christian life in and through us, demonstrating his awesome character and deeds. My prayer is that the real-life illustrations, humour, theology, and guidance will inspire the reader to expect and experience more of God’s hand at work within them and to recognise his fingerprints around them.

This book gives practical guidance when the gears of Holy Spirit adventure seem to grind to a standstill.

The Kingdom of God: Understanding the Greatest Show on Earth

‘As Richard Porter points out, “If you want to understand the New Testament, you need to know the one that came before it.” Porter is a guide to the reticent Old Testament reader for whom it makes no sense. At times radical, at times funny, but always compelling, The Kingdom of God – The Director’s Cut challenges the church to demonstrate the kingdom of God before a watching world. No longer a hippie, Porter is still a nonconformist and one from whom the church can learn a great deal!’ — Stephen Katz, North American Director of Jews for Jesus
